Amendments to the law on the procedure for transferring residential premises to non-residential premises in an apartment building
On May 29, 2019, President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin signed the Federal Law “On Amendments to the Housing Code of the Russian Federation”.
Federal law specifies the procedure for transfer of residential premises to non-residential premises in an apartment building.
In particular, the Federal Law establishes that in order to transfer residential premises to non-residential premises, it is required to submit to the body transferring the premises, the minutes of the general meeting of the owners of the premises in the apartment building, containing a decision on consent to transfer residential premises to non-residential premises, as well as each consent the owner of all premises adjacent to the premises being transferred, to transfer residential premises to non-residential premises.
Also, the Federal Law defines the procedure for holding a general meeting at which the said decision is made, and obtaining the consent of each owner of all premises adjacent to the premises being transferred.
