Minister Fanil Agliullin have visited New York as part of the delegation of the Republic of Tatarstan

The delegation of the Republic of Tatarstan, headed by the President Rustam Minnikhanov, paid a working visit to New York (United States of America). The purpose of the trip was the development of relations with the United Nations and the replication of successful practices of Tatarstan in terms of sustainable development.

 Within the framework of the business program of the visit, the meeting with the UN Secretary General Antoni Guterres was held, at which Mr. Guterres declared that the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals by Tatarstan at the regional level could serve as a good vivid example for many countries, and suggested that Tatarstan share its experience of inter-faith coexistence with other UN member countries.

 Also during the visit, the first persons of Tatarstan met with representatives of business circles of the USA. The round table was also attended by representatives of the American-Russian Business Council - associations with offices in Washington and Moscow, representing the trade and investment interests of Russian and American member companies in the field of bilateral commercial relations. The Council represents the management of over 200 companies, including leading international companies, as well as narrow-profile organizations that provide for the niche needs of the Russian economy.

During the meeting with the Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the United Nations and the UN Security Council, Vasily Nebenzya, the problems that today cover the Sustainable Development Goals adopted by the UN General Assembly on September 25, 2015, which both developing and developed countries face, were discussed . In the framework of the presentation of the report “Regions of the Russian Federation: Republic of Tatarstan - Sustainable Development Goals” at the UN headquarters (New York), he recalled that over the past years Tatarstan has been among the five regions of Russia in terms of the quality of life of the population.
