Dear colleagues, I congratulate you on your professional holiday!
Every year on the second Sunday of March we celebrate the Day of Geodesy and Cartography Workers. The history of cartography of Tatarstan begins in the 11th century. On the world map of Mahmoud al-Kashgari, the first information on the historical territory of the modern Republic of Tatarstan - Volga Bulgaria is plotted. The General Regulation, approved on February 28, 1720 by Peter I, marked the beginning of the history of geodesy. Systematic work began throughout the country. A map of the Tatar Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic with a border close to the modern border of the Republic of Tatarstan was published in 1922. She secured the borders of the Tatar Republic and its new administrative units.
Today it can be noted that the quality of life of the population depends on your work. Your work is always very important for our republic. In the field of construction, urban networks, the creation of transport routes can not do without cartographic and geodetic data. Without accurate maps it is impossible to imagine military affairs, scientific research, tourism and urban planning.
I want to thank you for your hard work and wish you good health, success in your work and all the best.
