The catalog of names of geographical objects of the Republic of Tatarstan has been published
On the official website of the State Budgetary Institution Spatial Data Fund of the Republic of Tatarstan in the section "Activities" there is a Catalog of names of geographical objects of the Republic of Tatarstan in Russian and Tatar languages.
Let us recall that this catalog was created by specialists of the State Budgetary Institution State Budgetary Institution Spatial Data Fund of the Republic of Tatarstan in order to ensure the uniform use of the names of geographical objects, their accounting and preservation. In its development, the State Catalog of Geographical Names of the Russian Federation was taken as a basis, supplemented by the data of the Register of Administrative-Territorial Units and Settlements in the Republic of Tatarstan of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Tatarstan. Subsequently, the Foundation did a great deal of work to finalize the structure of the document and include the names of settlements in the Tatar language.
To date, the Catalog contains more than 3000 names of settlements of the republic (cities, towns, villages, villages and railway stations) with an indication of the registration number and type of object in alphabetical order.
In the future, the content of the files will be supplemented with other types of geographic objects, such as: rivers, tracts, mountains, reserves, etc. indicating their names in Russian and Tatar languages. Also, work is underway to identify the names of settlements in the languages of the peoples of the Russian Federation in relation to the geographical objects of the Republic of Tatarstan located on the territory of their compact residence.
