The Spatial Data Fund of the Republic of Tatarstan discussed the prospects for the catalog of names of geographic objects in the Republic of Tatarstan
On October 26 a meeting on the issue of maintaining a catalog of names of geographic objects of the Republic of Tatarstan in the state languages of the Republic of Tatarstan was held in the State Budgetary Institution "Spatial Data Fund of the Republic of Tatarstan".
The meeting was attended by Deputy Minister of Land and Property of the Republic of Tatarstan Maxim Rogozhkin and Deputy Minister of Justice of the Republic of Tatarstan Mukharryam Ibyatov. Director Ruslan Komarov, Head of Production Department Insaf Shakirov, Acting Ainur Miftakhov, head of the fund management department; and Tatyana Yakovleva, head of the legal support and standards development department.
During the meeting, the participants discussed the current state of the catalog of names of settlements. Mukharryam Ibyatov told the story of the search for information about the names and the work done on this issue. He also gave recommendations for finding new data.
During the meeting, such problems were voiced as: the difficulty of determining the primary sources of names of geographical objects in the Tatar language and an acute lack of legal regulations governing the order of names of geographical objects in the state languages. Now in Tatarstan there are no problems with maintaining a catalog of settlements, it is in the public domain and is actively maintained by the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Tatarstan. Therefore, the main task of the Spatial Data Funf of the Republic of Tatarstan will be to search for the names of geographic objects of the republic in the Tatar language.
