Today, during a meeting of the working subgroup on establishing the border between the Republic of Tatarstan and the Chuvash Republic, the parties agreed to move to the stage of signing an agreement between the constituent entities of the Russian Federation.

The length of the border between the republics is 536 km. Apastovsky, Buinsky, Zelenodolsky, Drozhzhanovsky and Kaybitsky municipal districts of Tatarstan are located on the border. At the end of 2019, the Spatial Data Fund of the Republic of Tatarstan began work on determining the border with the Chuvash Republic from the collection and analysis of the original cartographic and cadastral materials. Initially, 122 problematic sections of the border were identified. Through negotiations, studying cartographic materials, as well as taking into account the materials of orthophotomaps, all issues were resolved.
