The borders of Tatarstan with neighboring regions have been established
Borders between the subjects of the Russian Federation - the Republic of Tatarstan and the Chuvash Republic, as well as between the Republic of Tatarstan and the Republic of Bashkortostan have been established. The Minister of Land and Property of the Republic of Tatarstan Fanil Agliullin spoke about the progress of work on establishing the border of the Republic of Tatarstan and neighboring entities.
In December last year, the State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan approved an agreement on establishing the location of the border between the Republic of Tatarstan and the Orenburg Region. Two more agreements were submitted to the Parliament for approval: on establishing the location of the border between the Republic of Tatarstan and the Chuvash Republic and on establishing the location of the border between the Republic of Tatarstan and the Republic of Bashkortostan.
The total length of the border of the Republic of Tatarstan is 3,400 km. The Republic borders on eight subjects of the Russian Federation. The length of the border between the republics of Tatarstan and Chuvashia is 554 km. Zelenodolsky, Kaibitsky, Apastovsky, Buinsky and Drozhzhanovsky municipal districts of the Republic of Tatarstan are located on the border. Boundary work has been underway since 2019.
The agreement on establishing the border was signed by the President of the Republic of Tatarstan and the Head of the Chuvash Republic on May 11 this year and sent to the State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan for approval.
Fanil Agliullin also said that work on establishing the border between Tatarstan and Bashkortostan had been completed. The corresponding document between the subjects was also signed by the President of the Republic of Tatarstan and the head of Bashkortostan. “The specified length of the border with the Republic of Bashkortostan is 498 kilometers. Aktanyshsky, Muslyumovsky, Aznakaevsky, Yutazinsky and Bavlinsky districts are located on the border,” the minister said.
Chairman of the State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan Farid Mukhametshin noted that a lot of work has been done to establish the border of Tatarstan with neighboring regions.
President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov expressed hope that the work to establish the border of Tatarstan with other regions would be continued. “At the moment, work is underway to determine the border with the Kirov region,” Rustam Minnikhanov said. - The territories for establishing the border between Tatarstan and the two aforementioned subjects have been determined for today, how additional funding will be provided, the issues that remain will be resolved. Most importantly, we now clearly know where our territory lies.”
