Act of RT № 17 -LRT "On Amendments to the Land Code of the Republic of Tatarstan" came into force on 7 March 2014

       Amendments to the Land Code of RT defined 4 types of valuable productive agricultural lands:

1) Farm lands of research organizations’ pilot production units and scientific-experimental departments of educational institutions of higher professional education;

2) Agricultural lands cadastral value of which over 50 percent of the average for the municipality;

3) Agricultural lands intended for the implementation of tests, protection and use of selection achievements;

4) Artificially irrigated farm lands and drained lands with fixed irrigation systems and closed drainage systems

       Regulation on particularly valuable productive farmlands is also secured.

       The use of such lands for other purposes is prohibited.

       The list of such lands formed by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan and approved by the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Tatarstan. In addition, the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of RT sets the minimum size of land for artificially irrigated farm lands and drained lands.

       The Land Code of RT excluded regulation establishing minimum term of land lease for hay and grazing.

       In accordance with the changes:

land lease contract of agricultural lands owned by the Republic of Tatarstan or municipal property, is for a term of three to forty-nine years;

Agricultural lands can additionally be used for aquaculture (fish farming).
