Today President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov within the framework of his working visit to Vienna met with the President of Austrian Federal Economic Chamber Christoph Leitl.

The sides discussed issues of further mutually beneficial cooperation, implementation of joint projects. According to Christoph Leitl, Tatarstan and Austria have many common interests, including in business matters, training and education.
Then, Rustam Minnikhanov, and Christoph Leitl took part in the Austrian-Tatarstan business forum.
In his welcoming speech, Christoph Leitl said that there is an interest in investing in special economic zones on the territory of the Republic of Tatarstan. "We know that Tatarstan is an economically successful region of Russia, and are ready to sign a special agreement on cooperation", - he stressed.
"Despite sanctions, we need to promote dialogue, to contribute to the strengthening of peace and cooperation. It is necessary to meet the modern challenges ", - said Christoph Leitl.
According to Christoph Leitl, the forecast for 2017 is favorable, and should be ready to implement joint projects.
In turn, Rustam Minnikhanov said that Tatarstan is interested in attracting business in the Republic of Austria and will provide all possible assistance and support. He gave examples of the success of Austrian companies in Tatarstan, including "Wienerberger", "Swarovski" companies, enterprises for the production of composite materials, as well as close cooperation between PJSC "KAMAZ" with the Austrian business.
According to Rustam Minnikhanov, Tatarstan and Austria have great potential in industries such as oil refining and petrochemistry, energy, information technology, aviation, pharmaceuticals and others.
Among the most important areas for the region, he called Kama innovative industrial cluster, one of the main points of growth of Tatarstan economy.
