The competitiveness of the Republic of Tatarstan largely depends on the development and strengthening of the role of 3 large agglomerations: Kazan, Kama and Almetyevsk (Volga-Kama metropolis) in the republic. The development of the Kazan agglomeration was discussed on June 19, 2020 during a meeting in the videoconferencing mode, which was held by the acting Deputy Minister of Land and Property Tagir Khusnutdinov.
The meeting participants outlined the issues that exist today. This is the lack of social, cultural and recreational services of rural settlements, the lack of jobs outside Kazan, the lack of an integrated approach to the engineering support of the Kazan metropolitan area, the absence of a single body coordinating the spatial development of territories, the lack of coordination and docking of spatial planning schemes between municipalities, the lack of a single state information system To solve these problems, the composition of the working group was determined, which included representatives of the Presidential Administration, the Ministry of Construction, Architecture and Housing and Public Utilities of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Ministry of Transport and Roads of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Tatarstan, the State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan, the State Budget Fund “Spatial Data Fund of the Republic of Tatarstan” and the Executive Committees of Kazan , Vysokogorsky, Pestrechinsky, Laishevsky, Zelenodolsky, Verkhneuslonsky districts.
