The first working meeting on the establishment of the adjacent border between the Republic of Tatarstan and the Udmurt Republic was held in Izhevsk

Head of the Department of Geodesy and Cartography Department of the State Budgetary Institution Spatial Data Fund of the Republic of Tatarstan Andrei Logashin met with representatives of the Udmurt Republic in Izhevsk on the issue of establishing an adjacent border between the two republics. This is the first working meeting of the parties to agree on disputed areas along the border.

On the part of the Udmurt Republic, representatives of the Ministry of Land and Property, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection, Federal service of state registration, cadastre and cartography and the Cadastral Chamber  of the Federal service of state registration, cadastre and cartography of the region took part in the discussion.

The length of the border between Tatarstan and Udmurtia is more than 800 kilometers. At the meeting, the participants managed to consider only half of the territory where 37 disputed areas were found. 16 of them were resolved following the results of face-to-face negotiations, preliminary decisions were determined for another eleven sections (additional initial materials are required for them). The remaining 10 disputed areas will be considered and agreed upon during the meetings of the working group.
