Disputed areas on the border between Tatarstan and Udmurtia were discussed in Izhevsk

Head of the Department of Geodesy and Cartography of the State Budgetary Institution Spatial Data Fund of the Republic of Tatarstan Andrei Logashin again met with representatives of the Udmurt Republic in Izhevsk on the issue of establishing the adjacent border between the two republics.

At the last meeting, which took place in early July, the participants managed to consider only part of the border. This time, the parties discussed the disputed areas along the entire border between Tatarstan and Udmurtia, the length of which is more than 800 kilometers. To date, there are 22 disputed areas between the republics, 10 of them at the meeting, preliminary decisions were determined and agreed upon. For another 11 plots, there are significant discrepancies in the data on the lands of the forestries of both republics, which require the collection of additional source materials.

Also, on the disputed site near the city of Argyz, an additional meeting of the administrations of the Agryz (Tatarstan) and Malopurginsky (Udmurtia) regions took place. Some of the issues were resolved on the spot, while the rest of the sections are still being negotiated. The next meeting of the parties in the mode of video communication will take place at the end of August.
