Today, via videoconference, an all-Russian meeting under the chairmanship of the Deputy Minister of Justice of the Russian Federation V.L. Vukolov with the participation of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation on the issue of creating in 2022 in each subject at least 400 places in correctional centers based on regional property was held. Deputy Minister Rustem Shameev took part in the discussion of the issue.
Earlier, the Ministry sent a list of real estate objects located on the territory of the Republic of Tatarstan to the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia in the Republic of Tatarstan, on the basis of which it is possible to carry out major repairs in order to create hostels to accommodate those sentenced to forced labor.
According to the response of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia for the Republic of Tatarstan, the proposed facilities do not meet the requirements for the creation of correctional centers on their basis.
In this regard, in 2022 the Ministry will continue to search for buildings owned by the Republic of Tatarstan that meet the criteria for placement as hostels.
