The collection of information about the names of settlements in the languages of the peoples of Russia is being completed
The Spatial Data Fund of the Republic of Tatarstan collected information about the names of settlements in the languages of the peoples of the Russian Federation in relation to geographical objects of the Republic of Tatarstan located on the territory of their compact residence.
In total, such settlements were identified in 33 municipal districts of the republic, where requests were previously sent. To date, responses have been received from 27 districts. All of them confirmed the presence of these nationalities and updated the number of settlements based on the results of later censuses.
However, there were areas that did not provide the necessary information. For example, the Baltasinsky and Yelabuzhsky municipal districts have not yet sent a response to requests. Also, Alkeyevsky, Verkhneuslonsky, Nurlatsky and Cheremshansky districts provided information only partially, not for all the requested settlements.
We ask these districts to intensify their work, as the received names will form the basis of the catalog of geographical names of the Republic of Tatarstan.
