The Minister of Land and Property of the Republic of Tatarstan Fanil Agliullin reported on the progress in providing housing for orphans at a meeting in the House of the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan.

The President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov held a meeting via videoconferencing with all municipal districts. The Prime Minister of Tatarstan Alexey Pesoshin took part in the work.

Fanil Agliullin reported that over the period from 2013 to 2021, the ministry acquired 3,366 residential premises for a total of 3.7 billion rubles, 537 million rubles of which were federal budget funds. All apartments are included in the special housing fund for the provision of orphans under rental contracts for a period of 5 years.

This year, the ministry needs to purchase 600 residential premises for a total of 959.6 million rubles. To date, state contracts for the purchase of 177 apartments have been concluded, of which 132 apartments have been purchased as the property of the republic and provided to orphans. In relation to 423 apartments, events are being held to announce an auction.

The minister noted that the legislation provides for the possibility for orphans to obtain ownership of occupied residential premises. Since 2018, work has begun in the republic to exclude residential premises from the special housing fund due to the expiration of rental contracts (5 years) for the purpose of subsequent privatization. To date, 1,308 apartments have expired their 5-year lease agreements. Of these, 552 apartments were transferred to the ownership of citizens, 253 apartments were transferred under social rental agreements, 503 apartments were transferred under a special housing fund rental agreement for a new 5-year period due to the tenants being in a difficult life situation (debts for housing and communal services).
