According to information posted on the website of the newspaper "Vedomosti" Ministry of Agriculture of Russian Federation by the order of the President of Russian Federation Vladimir Putin has developed proposals for the donation of state and municipal land for up to five years to citizens and legal entities investing in agriculture. This offer is directed to the Government of the Russian Federation.
The Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation proposes to add Article 39.6 of the Land Code, listing the reasons for the donation of land for use, - to clarify that it can get a person implementing projects in agriculture. In case of successful realization of these projects the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation proposes to restructure these sites for sale or to lease without bidding.
On 01.01.2014 (more recent data are not available) according to the information of Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation in Russia, there were 386.5 million hectares of agricultural land, including 196.1 million hectares of farmland (50.7%). It was not used for its intended purpose 56 million hectares, or 28.6% of all farmland. A particularly acute problem was in the Siberian Federal District, where it is not treated about 21.6 million hectares.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation opinion, the amendments to the Land Code of the Russian Federation will allow to involve more of unused agricultural land into agricultural use.
